Do Something Different! - Spring, 2010

About the course:

Learn a different physical art each week of this 6 week class. 
Week 1: T' ai Chi - Ancient Chinese art of slow, dance-like movements to improve health, balance and to calm the body and mind.
Week 2: Qi Gong - Ancient Chinese exercises for self-healing.
Week 3: Yoga - Ancient Indian art including postures, breathing, and relaxation techniques to improve health and lifestyle.
Week 4: Spinal Flexibility Routine - Easy, gentle Yoga routine designed to create greater ease in the spine from the bottom up.
Week 5: Meditation - Various techniques of walking, standing and seated forms of meditation.
Week 6: Chakras - What are these energy centers? How do they affect us, and how can we balance them?

Handouts will be giving each week so you can practice these forms at home. Wear comfortable clothes. Bring an exercise mat for weeks 3-6.

 About the instructor:

 Kaye Thomas-Hogan is a certified Yoga, T'ai Chi and Qigong instructor and has been teaching classes, seminars and retreats throughout Michigan, Ohio and Canada since 1981. She is an active member of several professional organizations and is a skilled presenter of many forms and styles of Yoga and T'ai Chi. Kaye, a massage therapist and Reiki Master, has had her own private massage therapy practice since 1982 and is currently practicing in Lewiston.
