About the course:
Learn about the seven energy centers and how they build a foundation for a healthy and fulfilling life approach. Yoga warm-ups to free the joints will be learned and classic yoga postures with attention to detail and body awareness will be an important part of the course. Deep breathing and relaxation techniques will enhance body-mind awareness and promote a less stressful approach to everyday life. Beginning meditation will be taught from the standpoint of cross-cultural variations, as well as healthful and spiritual approaches. Students should bring a yoga mat and dress in comfortable clothing for easy movement.
About the instructor:
Sandi Jones has practiced and taught yoga for over 20 years. She has a B A in Elementary Education from University of Northern Colorado, and a Masters degree in Social Work from Michigan State University. She has taught yoga at various locations in northern Michigan, including Community Education in Gaylord, health clubs, churches and at wellness conferences.
