Life Long Learning


The University Center Gaylord offers a wide variety of community education classes for youth and adults who wish to expand their learning and skills through non-college credit courses that are available throughout the year. Course offerings have included Computer classes…Beginner, Word, EXCEL, Powerpoint, Quickbooks, Foreign Languages, Photography, Dog obedience training, Financial topics, Summer adventure classes for kids and More!

We are currently offering the following learning opportunities: 

Organizing Your Space & Time

Are you intentionally living life or are you being pulled in unwanted or unnecessary directions? If the latter is true, then the Decifer Method is for you. During this two-day course you will learn the steps in the Decifer Method, which include decluttering, evicting the clutter, categorizing your belongings, integrating items in intentional places in your home, and creating a routine to frequently evaluate and remove items to prevent clutter creep.

About the instructors 

Anne Buyze-Smith is the owner of Decifer, a home organization company she started July 2019.   She has spent years researching, learning, and implementing organization strategies and techniques that turn mundane tasks of life into automatic action.  This change allowed her to focus on the important stuff and live an intentional life.  She enjoys helping others determine their focus and create a space that is individualized for specific needs and desires.  Organizing homes is her 3-D puzzle come to life!  Anne received her B.A. in English and Political Science from Alma College.  She also has a teaching certificate with early childhood endorsement and a M. A. in Reading and Literacy.  She currently teaches at South Maple Elementary School.  Anne Buyze-Smith lives in Gaylord with her family of boys which include her husband, three sons and 2 dogs.
