GENETICS AND IT’S APPLICATION
What do a banana, a human, and a dog all have in common? DNA! You will learn about DNA, what it is and how it works to create such differences in living things. Learn the techniques associated with extracting DNA from a strawberry through a hands-on scientific experiment.
Learn about the concept of specific heat through hands-on experiments. You will have an opportunity to apply this concept to different materials such as steel.
What makes things light up? Where does the power come from…or go? Using a lot of fun, hands-on experiments, you’ll learn about the basics of electronics.
Have you ever wondered how we have the laws and freedoms we have today? In this info-packed session, you’ll learn all about people, places, and events that impact who we are and how we live today.
LEGO AND SO MUCH MORE
Using Lego WeDo2.0, you’ll discover how to apply science, technology, engineering, and mathematic concepts by building and using Lego models. Enhance your creativity, logic, and problem-solving skills.
This level one class is an introduction to Lego Mindstorms. You’ll learn how to program using the Mindstorm software and work with basic sensors. On the final day of class, use what you’ve learned to complete challenges of varying difficulty.
