Madonna University

Founded by the Felician Sisters of Livonia in 1937, Madonna University is a Catholic university in the Franciscan tradition committed to teaching, scholarship, and service. Social Work Program

The Social Work Program offers its B.S.W. degree program to students in Northern Michigan via interactive television (two-way audio/video) through the University Center Gaylord. Designed for transfer students, the part-time program may be completed in 2 1/2 years with classes scheduled to accommodate the working adult student. The Gaylord Social Work Distance Learning program replicates the main campus part-time degree completion program and is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

Bachelor of Social Work

The Bachelor of Social Work degree can be completed in four years.

Description: The Bachelor of Social Work is designed to prepare students for entry-level professional employment in the human service field and for graduate professional education. This degree combines skills-building and theoretical content with a broad liberal arts foundation and is nationally accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. The BSW degree requirement is a minimum of 120 semester hours including general education, prerequisites, and social work courses.*
